The handheld acoustic Doppler velocimeter (ADV) is primarily used in laboratory flumes, water treatment facilities, natural streams, surface runoff, lakes, hydraulic models, and can also be applied to river measurements and marine surveys for the rapid measurement of fluctuating flow velocities.
